The U.S. Department of State recently updated federal regulations around foreign exchange students in America.  Fingerprint background checking is still under review.

Sadly, no federal oversight exist to govern student travel foreign exchange and study abroad. 

There are many ways you can step up to support the Traveling Youth's Standards of Safety bill (TY's S.O.S.) and help ensure the safety of students traveling abroad:
